Hello Carey and Dyana,
Just wanted to let you know how pleased I was with your rose flower
arrangement you recently made for my wife’s birthday.
Earlier this month you had mentioned a “new” variety of ‘green’
roses. I was skeptical-but since my wife’s favorite color is green I
thought they

"The business, half
floral shop and half coffeehouse, is in the Northland Center next to
the new Subway. Close-Converse Commercial & Preferred Properties
recently leased the 1,500-square-foot retail space.
Owners are Carey Rasinski and her daughter, Dyana Rasinski, and
Erika Nunnink.
Carey Rasinski said the goal is to have a relaxing atmosphere for
coffee and fresh-cut flowers. Petals & Beans features an
in-house computer customers may use free of charge and wireless
options for those who want to have coffee and use their laptops.
Rasinski said she
wanted to start a drive-through coffee shop in the tradition of west
Brainerd's Grab-A-Java after seeing many such |
shops on a trip out West. But, she said, buying property
along Highway 371 in Nisswa meant she would have had to sell an awful lot of
coffee to make it work financially.
Her partners were hoping to set up a floral shop.
"So basically we put the two together. They are the petals and I'm the beans,"
Rasinski said and laughed. The store has a fireplace and rockers sized for
children to appeal to families. There is seating for 15 people. Beverages
include lattes, mochas, espresso and loose-leaf Paradise tea, which can be made
as a hot cup or as an iced tea.
Other offerings include caramel rolls, bagels, soups for lunch and desserts in
the afternoon. They hope to expand to floral arrangements for weddings and
funerals but are starting with the fresh-cut flowers. They will deliver in a
15-mile radius, which includes Brainerd.
Coffee drinkers in a hurry may receive curbside service with a call ahead.
Late last week the partners were putting the finishing touches together. Area
artists were used to help decorate the shop's interior. In a month, Rasinski
said they plan to add sweaters from alpacas to the inventory."
